Yesterday consisted of too much time in my business attire. Class started at 8:30am, ugh. Organizational Behavior, aka HR Management. Oh joy. Hopefully this class isn't to boring that I fall asleep :/ Then some reading, lunch, and class number two for the day, Brand Management. Now this should be a pretty great class. It's taught by our "WSU faculty member". I'm putting this in quotes because he actually teaches at Rice University, but he used to go to WSU. After class I went back to my room, read some more, took a nap, and then headed back to school (still dressed up) for a meeting with all the WSU students. After our not so necessary meeting we headed downstairs to the dining room for the Icebreaker.
The Icebreaker had a buffet, wine, and beer, and it was meant to encourage new and old students alike to mingle with one another and meet new people. We didn't meet to many students, but we talked to a lot of faculty members who all seemed like very genuine people. We talked to them a lot about soccer and now we're all really pumped to try to find a soccer game we can go to while we're here! We'll see how that works out.
After the Icebreaker was the after party at the Chaos bar in the basement of our residence hall. It didn't open until 10pm so we hung out in the lobby for a little while, but then headed down to the bar when it did open. It was actually a lot of fun. For awhile we just sat in the lounge area talking with each other and with new friends we were making, but then we eventually all headed to the dance floor for a very entertaining time. I mainly hung out with Maddie, Tyler, and Colby but talked with people around us. It's funny that it takes a bar setting for people to be willing to talk to each other. Regardless, it was a great night.
However, it was very odd to not be going to swing dancing at CJ's on a Thursday night. I miss my normal routine, but while I can't do that, I'll have fun in others ways while I'm here.
-Love-
