I decided to stay home this weekend and not go to Interlaken with everyone else. This was a wise decision. I don't really do much during the weekdays, I don't like to drink during the week and I like to just Skype, watch a movie/TV, and go to bed. Because of this I don't really get to mingle with everyone, which I'm okay with, it's my own personal choice.
Last night the Student Activities Committee hosted a Chinese New Year celebration, so I decided to attend. I thought it would be fun to learn about this holiday and a little about their culture since I hadn't before. I went with Maddie and Colby, everyone else had already left for Interlaken. It was really fun! Great food, fun music, and I learned a lot that I didn't know about their new year. I also was hanging out with Ira and Antonia, two of the girls that are in my Organizational Behavior group, both from Germany.
After the celebration was over, people started heading down to Chaos, so we joined. There weren't to many people there, so our friend Ofilio invited Ira, Antonia, and I up to a mini party that was going on in his friend Edgard's room. There were a ton of people in his little room! But it was really fun, I met a lot of new people, and their all from different countries. We were having a blast but felt like we wanted to dance so we headed back down to Chaos. By this time the place was fairly full and made for a great time.
We danced for hours, I didn't leave until about 3am, and it was worth the sore feet and tiredness. I made a ton of new friends, and that's definitely the best part about it. And I got to practice my salsa a little bit with Ira and Edgard, and then Ofilio taught me some Salvadoran dance similar to salsa.
I'm going out to Skala tonight with pretty much the same group, so I hope I have fun again! I think I've finally adjusted to life here, now that I'm already a third of the way through it!
-Love-
